Dhiren never serviced clients unless they confirmed his commission in writing upfront. Mr.Thakkar his client, did not believe in giving anything in writing. Over a phone conversation he confirmed the 1% commission if Dhiren found him a suitable 3bhk apartment.
66 days, 38 properties, 11 re-inspections, 3 meetings with the owners and 4 solicitor meetings later, Dhiren helped Mr.Thakkar move in to his new house. And when Dhiren raised his invoice, Mr.Thakkar raised an objection “But I had said .5% Dhiren. I never ever lie during Navratri.”
“You had confirmed this before Navratri” Dhiren tried to stay calm.
“What are you trying to say Dhiren? I never ever lie, anyway” Mr.Thakkar didn’t bother to stay calm.
“I wouldn’t have put in so much effort then” said Dhiren desperately.
“Okay, if you say, I had confirmed 1%, do you have proof?” asked Mr.Thakkar
“I should have recorded that phone call” Dhiren was livid and right. He should have recorded that phone call. As proof.
